food on the brain
I’m curious about everything. Right now I’m obsessed with learning about brain health.
But no matter where my own big ol’ noggin goes, it ends up back at food. Food is connected to everything.
Don’t get it twisted: I like food, but I’m not a ‘foodie.’ That word is gross.
Here’s more on my food journey, which perfectly paired with my zeal for writing, storytelling, and connecting.
These days I’m willing to venture beyond food to craft content for companies that share my values: hard work, big ideas, flexibility, honesty, and balance.

hungry like the lion
As an eager Penn State freshman, I rolled onto campus and straight to the dark basement that housed award-winning independent newspaper The Daily Collegian.
My first reporting assignment was covering a chicken wing contest. I wrote about theatre, film, dance, music, and health & wellness before launching the paper’s first food reporter position.
In my spare time I took notes on the local Thai restaurant’s peanut sauce, challenging myself to slow down, really taste it, and uncover every ingredient. I never quite hit the mark. I also volunteered with the world’s largest student-run philanthropy, THON; I’ve been doing volunteer work since high school.
After graduation, I was ready to devour the wider world of food.
food writer what? food writer who?
After college, I moved to NYC to intern at Eats.com. Then I became a freelance ‘Brooklyn Pizzeria Examiner’ and restaurant reviewer. As the ‘foodie’ movement emerged, I frequented Smorgasburg in its early days and navigated the city via its best cookies, mostly recommended by longtime, non-foodie New Yorkers.
I worked front-of-house in restaurants and event spaces for seven years while building my portfolio. Later I saw the city via top-tier events (and more elaborate cookies) as a content marketer for renown catering company Great Performances. Fun highlights include producing the 2017 Latke Festival and creating content for David Bowie-themed dinners at the Brooklyn Museum.
free your mind (and your feet)
I’m currently based in Brookline, MA and am open to remote copywriting and content writing opportunities.
My mind sees the bigger picture while also obsessing over every detail. A dandy combo!
I’ve cooked up most of my career through freelancing. I have a solid network of freelance friends who help me grow and provide resources and support. (Thanks, freelance fam!)
Working from home requires prioritizing healthy habits. I’m a longtime dancer, and tap shoes are part of my toolkit to help move my body and fuel my creativity. I also do ‘Zoomba’ with a local group here in Boston!
UNSOLICITED LIFE ADVICE: I highly recommend 5-minute dance breaks during the day. Fire up some Janet and let it all go. Jump around. Shake it like a salt shaker. Become an active citizen of the Rhythm Nation.
Music has always helped me find my flow. When En Vogue said “free your mind” in 1992, I listened. Today I continue finding my rhythm in words, music, and movement while remaining hungry, curious, and open-minded. As my career shuffles along, I’m always looking for new adventures.
